Let’s take some hard questions

Today’s focus is on a question that came across my desk related to wiring of transformer secondary conductors.  The desire is to supply two disconnects from a single transformer.  The challenge is how to get it done and not violate NFPA 70.

Let’s talk about the codes and standards around this application which is arguably a common desire in many locations.  We’ll explore requirements in various locations within NFPA 70 and take a look at some product information that is available that may have to be leveraged.  Keep in mind that we have to focus on customer needs first and then make sure our designs do not violate installation requirements.  When these two differ we may have an opportunity to either improve codes and standards or improve our designs.
